ET Engineteam range now includes 13 control valves for camshaft adjustment.
These valves are used to adjust the camshaft settings based on the requirements of the engine control unit. When the electromagnetic field is changed, the control valve affects the distributor valve, which provides oil flow to the appropriate adjuster chamber. This results in camshaft realignment where the camshaft position is shifted by a certain angle (typically 30° or 60°, depending on the specific engine and vehicle), which affects the moment and duration of valve opening / closing.
This innovation brings several advantages. It enables higher power output at higher engine loads, while at lower engine loads it contributes to fuel economy. However, it is important to remember that in case of a problem with any of the components of this system, an error message may appear in the OBD diagnostics, indicating a timing error.
